As soon as the natural movements are pointed out they make sense to parents. That’s because they are innate movement skills that one continues to use for a lifetime - that we are using now as we type/read.
This isn’t about the obvious times where you protect Baby. It’s about interactions in your daily life where Baby is capable of moving themself.
I will teach you how to play with your child and set up your play space to encourage the movements that your child is trying to learn. This is different than doing “exercises” with your child that you initiate and do for or to them. Parents learn the precise instances in play where baby can do it themself.
It's useful for all parents to learn about how movement development happens naturally. This knowledge reduces stress and worry even with the healthiest babies, but it isn't taught in general education. It's essential for babies who have stress or special needs. If you're doing physical therapy exercises with Baby understanding natural movement can make them more effective.
Parents routinely remark how doable it is and how surprised they are that it’s fun. They report profoundly positive changes and gains for Baby and for the whole family.
