COMMENTS FROM PARENTS

"Our 3 yr old suffered a brain injury & nerve damage during birth, leaving him with low muscle tone and profound muscle control impairment on his left side.  He had been receiving regular occupational and physical therapy through the state's Early Intervention program since he was a newborn.  We started taking him to Amajoy when he was a year old. At the time he had not started to roll over & was significantly behind in physical development. Having no prior experience with this kind of injury we learned as we went. After taking our son to Lenore for a few sessions we started to understand more of what we needed to be doing. Lenore guided my son, my wife & I in the natural cues that our son needed to move his body, building key muscles and reflexes to advance his abilities. Our son started to make progress & excelled at Amajoy. We found peace in throwing out the time table and guiding our son through the natural progressions of development so that he would acquire unassisted movement. We are grateful for Amajoy & continue to take him to refine movement or work on the next stage"

"When I met Lenore, I was a first time mother of a premie. I had just come through a very difficult pregnancy and birth. Lenore so graciously made room for my experience (I was still too immersed to realize that I was in shock) as she very lovingly worked with my son to help him find ease and balance in his body. She communicated such a deep knowing and respect of babies in the way she moved and held my son. Watching her was a true education which sticks with me today and certainly informed my parenting in that first year."

"Our baby with Noonan Syndrome cried constantly and always arched back since birth. We were told there was little chance she would ever walk or talk. Our first visit with Lenore changed her in a positive way beyond our hopes. We were amazed to see her gains after each session -- and she loved going to Lenore's! We learned to work together so that now, at two and a half years old, our girl enjoys talking, running and even hopping. We want other families in need to know of this loving, practical work ."

"As a physician, I refer patients and friends to Lenore Grubinger because I am impressed with the results of her work. As a parent I've used Developmental Movement Therapy to help both my children work through digestive problems, achieve developmental milestones and facilitate their well-being."

?Our son was severely ill at the age of 6 months. He had low tone and could barely lift his hands to pick up an object. He didn?t look at us at close range and rarely smiled. Experts talked about mental retardation and autism. After our first visit with Lenore, our baby was waving his hands in the air -- he had never done that before! Now, six months later, he is a master of eye contact and walks with support. He delights us with his wonderful sense of humor and high intelligence. We are deeply grateful and want other parents to learn this phenomenal work!?

"Following Lenore's recommendation, we put a rope in the basement and outside on the swingset, and Dad and Wilder have been playing and having lots of
fun!  We've been getting a few more repetitive two word phrases, too!  We
always have a surge of positive behaviors after we visit with Lenore."
